The well-known natural bath Krauma, with hot water from the hot spring Deildartunguhver.
Bathing in Krauma geothermal baths is to experience nature from its core!
The warm water originates in Europe’s most powerful hot spring Deildartunguhver, at a temperature of 100°C (212°F). When water arrives in Krauma it is the perfect bathing temperature because we mix the hot water with cold water from Rauðsgil gorges, which originates in the glacier Ok, the smallest glacier in Iceland. So Krauma is basically the perfect combination from two natural sources, glacier water and a bubbling hot spring.
You will find five hot relaxing natural geothermal baths at Krauma. You also find one cold tub, that will get your blood circulation going. The two calming saunas and the relaxation room is where you can rest and find the peace within yourself. It a wonderful and a relaxing feeling to sit by the fireplace, while listening to soothing music.
Baths
Krauma has a total of six baths, five warm and one cold. The baths feature blunted soft shapes which create an interesting contrast to the square design of the buildings. Two of the baths are large and spacious, another two are shaped in the form of cochlea and a third is shaped like a large plate where guests can relax in the water while sunbathing. Last but not least is the cold bath (5°C to 8°C) for those who want to jump start their blood circulation.
Relaxation room
To maximize the experience guests can go to the relaxation room located in the bathing area. In the room guests can lie or sit down and relax to soothing music and a crackling fireplace.
Steambaths
Krauma has two steam baths in separate buildings along with outdoor showers. The steam is created by spraying water from the hot springs under timber benches located in the steam baths. Guests can feel high quality scented oils in the saunas to add to their experience.
