Meeting Place: (without pick-up) Gljúfrabúi base, Seljalandsfoss Waterfall. Please be there 30 min before tour start.

Clothes: Warm and waterproof outdoor clothing (very important even when it is summer, It is very cold on the glacier), Headwear, Gloves and appropriate hiking boots/shoes

NB. A valid international driver’s license is required to drive a snowmobile. A standard booking is for two people sharing a snowmobile. If your wish to ride a snowmobile by yourself or you are an odd number of people in your group, please select the number of “solo-riders” when booking. If this is not booked correctly, the extra fee will be charged on location

Snowmobile Eyjafjallajökull- A snowmobile ride on the famous volcanic glacier

The great Eyjafjallajökull icecap hides a notorious secret down in its ice-cold depths: a massive volcano, which caught the world’s attention when it in 2010 stopped most of Europe’s air traffic. Since then the glacier has been a popular tourist attraction for the adventurous.

The south coast is spectacular from the ground, but nothing beats experiencing it from the top of the glacier! This snowmobile tour takes you to some amazing views and offers you adrenalin pumping entertainment in picturesque areas on the glacier. There is no better way to experience this natural wonder than on a snowmobile.

This snowmobile tour on Eyjafjallajokull is the perfect length for first-time riders and for anyone who wants a fun day exploring the ice-covered wilderness in Iceland. The tour starts at our base camp, Gljúfrabúi by road 249. Here you will get a short briefing about safety and an introduction to the snowmobiles. You will be provided with all the necessary equipment (snow suit, helmet, gloves and mask), and then we hop on our modified super jeep and drive to the glacier where our snowmobiles are waiting for us.

The tour duration will vary from season to season since the glacier is everchanging. The snowmobiling tour itself will be approx. 1 hour. In the winter it is easier to reach the snow so the tour will be approximately 2 hours, and, in the summer, we need to drive higher and therefor the tour can take up to 4 hours.
